Greta Streimikyte secures bronze at IPC European Paralympics Championships

DCU athlete Greta Streimikyte finished third in the 1500m at the IPC European Paralympics Championships in Grosseto, Italy yesterday (Wednesday, June 15th) and also recorded her second fastest race time. London Olympics champion Elena Pautova from Russia claimed first place while the Spanish champion Izaskun Oses Ayucar collected silver. The Lithuanian born athlete, who will represent Ireland at this year’s Paralympics, is ranked number two in the world. Greta, an International Relations student, recently knocked six seconds off her personal best at the AAI Games in Morton Stadium, Santry in May.
