Completion of DCU Incorporation

Today (Friday 30th September) marks the completion of the DCU Incorporation programme.  All legal documents underpinning the Incorporation programme were finalised today and signed by all stakeholders, on foot of approval by the respective governance bodies. So a journey that began over 4 years ago has reached its initial destination on schedule. But the real journey commences tomorrow as we collectively aim to advance education, learning, research and innovation in the expanded university and thereby contribute to positive transformation in our shared society.

Professor Brian MacCraith, President of DCU said,

"Reaching this milestone depended heavily on significant contributions and hard work from literally hundreds of individuals across the four institutions - Church of Ireland College of Education; DCU; Mater Dei Institute of Education and St Patrick's College, Drumcondra.  Tonight, as we embark on an exciting new era and build upon the wonderful legacy of the incorporated institutions, I want to thank all of you who invested in this vision and contributed to today's achievement. I also want to welcome all our new colleagues into the DCU community and to assure you all of a fulfilling and exciting future in the university.  Today was a very significant day in the history of Dublin City University."

A celebratory event will be held in the coming weeks to mark the major significance of what has been achieved together.
