Irish Centre for High End Computing Roadshow

|Event Details||The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) will be visiting Dublin City University on the 2nd June 2009 as part of its 2009 annual Roadshow.
These meetings are organised to provide the ICHEC with an opportunity to meet researchers across the country and bring them up to date with the latest developments concerning High-Performance Computing service provision in Ireland, and more specifically, how ICHEC can assist researchers in meeting their requirements (in terms of storage and compute resources, and also in terms of support and consultancy).
Access to the following resources may be gained through the National HPC
- SGI Altix ICE 8200 EX (Stokes), 2,560 cores, 5.12TB RAM - IBM Blue Gene /L and /P (Schrödinger/Lanczos), total of 6,144 cores, 3,07TB RAM - Bull Novacale R422-E2 (Stoney), 512 cores, 3,07TB RAM Users of the National HPC service may also avail of our comprehensive User Support activity, which includes: - Access to helpdesk - Personalised project support (may include code development, debugging, optimisation, etc.) - Consortium support - Training activities (introductory, advanced, and topical) - Visualisation (from June 09) All these services are completely FREE of charge to academic researchers. ICHEC is also one of the core partners in the e-INIS initiative (towards a National e-Infrastructure) funded by the HEA as part of its PRTLI4 programme (see http://www.e-inis.ie/). The session is expected to last between 1 and 1.5 hours, and will include a 30 minutes presentation followed by a Q&A session.
