MedEX Cancer Care public seminar as part of National Cancer Awareness Week

As part of National Cancer Awareness Week, MedEX Wellness are hosting a Cancer Care Programme Public Seminar this coming Monday evening (October 17th) in DCU, Room T101(located beside DCU Business School)  at 7.00pm.

All are invited to attend and registration is from 6.30pm.

The public seminar, organised by Dr Noel McCaffrey, Medical Director at MedEX will involve a series of presentations by health-care experts from the MedEX team, audience discussion and a forum with past and current patients of the MedEX Cancer Care Programmes.

MedEx which is a community based chronic illness rehabilitation programme based at the University, offers three distinct programmes in the area of cancer care, for patients pre or post cancer treatment.

Move On offers 12 weeks of supervised exercise and healthy nutrition advice to patients recovering from cancer treatment. Over 300 cancer survivors have now completed the programme and many will attend the seminar.

Living Life offers gentle supervised physical activity classes and healthy nutrition advice to people with advanced cancer.

Cancer Prepare offers an intense schedule of exercise (supervised and home-based) to patients who are preparing for cancer surgery.
