Degree Information:
For those students who do not meet the normal Masters entry requirements, this course offers an alternative entry route to the M.Sc in Computer Aided Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (CAMME). Successful completion of the MEQ in CAMME allows the student to progress to the M.Sc programme, from which Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate exit awards are also possible.
Areas covered include Finite Element Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Project Management, Design for Manufacture and Assembly and Operations Research
Aims and Objectives:
- To give students the knowledge, experience and skills required to enter our Masters programme in Computer Aided Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering.
- The MEQ course itself does not carry an award, but it offers you the opportunity to advance your knowledge and career aspirations and the credits from the MEQ can be transferred to the M.Sc in CAMME programme.
Programme Structure:
The Masters of Engineering Qualifier can be completed part time within one year. There are two intakes in any academic year, in September and in February. Part-time students take two modules per semester. The taught elements are conducted over two 12-week semesters with subsequent end-of-semester examinations.
Students on the Masters Qualifier Course need to gain 30 credits by completing 4 modules from the programme. In accordance with University standards for postgraduate programmes, these modules must be completed with a mark exceeding 50%.
If you successfully complete the Masters Qualifier Course and transfer to the Masters programme, credit earned can be offset against the Masters award.
