Today's marketplace is one of economic uncertainty and complexity. However, there are also opportunities created by globalisation and the spread of information technology. This intensive and varied programme is aimed primarily at recent business graduates who are committed to a marketing career in this challenging environment. It builds on DCU Business School's proven track record as a provider of innovative and industry-near postgraduate qualifications.

Aims and Objectives:
· To equip you with the knowledge, competencies and expertise to function as a successful, accountable and global marketing manager.
· To place a strong emphasis on your personal and professional development.
· Projects, assignments and delivery modes are tailored to refine your presentation, team-working and technological competencies.
Programme Structure:
This one year, full-time programme is delivered on a modular basis over two semesters (Sept to Dec, and Feb to May). It contains six core compulsory modules, with a strong focus on strategic and analytical approaches to marketing. You will also be able to select specialist modules which give you flexibility and allow you to tailor your studies to your future career plans and academic strengths.
You will be exposed to a variety of teaching and learning methods that may include examinations, case studies, industry consulting projects, presentations and group project work, as well as a major group or individual practicum at year end. This requires you to work with a client organisation to solve a real-world problem or to exploit a real-world opportunity.
The MSc in Marketing is part of DCU Business School's Next Generation Management initiative This starts with a pre-semester, week-long immersion course to provide students with the opportunity to develop the competencies required for successful management careers. It focuses on four key themes: personal and career development; leadership, teamwork and corporate accountability; global and societal awareness; and research, media and communication.
The programme commences with a compulsory Immersion Week, which takes place from 17th September - 21st September (i.e. one week before the standard University commencement date).

Career Prospects:
Graduates from this well-established MSc. now occupy rewarding and challenging marketing positions in public, private, profit and non-profit sectors, both in Ireland and abroad. Their varied job roles include Marketing Management, Product Development, and Brand Management. For example, recent graduates have secured positions as market research executive with Lansdowne Research, marketing management trainee with Unilever, marketing manager with Caledonian Life, marketing manager with Procter and Gamble, and marketing executive with Hewlett Packard.
Entry Requirements:
The minimum entry requirements for the programme are:
- A second class honours grade 1 degree in Marketing (or international equivalent)
OR
- A second class honours grade 1 degree (or approved international equivalent) in Business with a significant number of Marketing modules
OR
- Professional qualfications in Marketing coupled with significant relevant professional experience.
If you have achieved a second class honours grade 2 honours degree in Marketing or in Business with significant Marketing content, you may still obtain a place. This will depend on the availability of places. You may be invited for interview.
Outstanding candidates from non-Business disciplines may also apply.
If, as is normally the case, demand from qualified applicants exceeds available places, applicants will be ranked for admission purposes on the basis of prior academic performance, relevant professional experience and, where relevant, performance at interview. Candidates who have not received their degree results by the application closing date may receive conditional offers.
International Applications
International candidates are expected to have educational qualifications of a standard equivalent to those outlined above. In addition, where such candidates are non-native speakers of the English language they must satisfy the university of their competency in the English language.
