Description
The purpose of this module is to give students an overview of societal and professional issues that are not central but relevant to a postgraduate programme in Accounting. Speakers from a range of disciplines and industries will give a talk on their life work. Students are encouraged to ask questions of guests and avail of the opportunity to learn from their experiences. Attendance at the talks is mandatory.

Learning Outcomes
1. To explore the importance and dynamics of teamwork.
2. Determine current issues of concern to a range of professional accountants, business and not for profit professionals.
3. Critique societal and professional issues as they relate to a range of guest speakers.
4. To investigate student fears of public speaking and develop strategies to cope with fears identified.
5. To determine what makes a good presentation and the effective and efficient use of powerpoint as an aid in presentations.
