Description
This module explores scientific, ethical, moral and social issues arising from contemporary science and technology, through examples taken from each of the three major scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). The module highlights how basic science and technology lead to applications and how these applications raise issues. Students are expected attend lectures, contribute to seminars and engage in group discussions. Students will also prepare a presentation and essay on a relevant topic as part of the course.
