Description
|
This module gives students an understanding of the nature and structure of translational cancer research. Integrating an understanding of the basic laboratory and research techniques with the flow path from concept through development, patient enrolment and delivery of final results. The various challenges and perspectives of translational networks are articulated and investigated to give the student sufficient background with which to be able to develop translational research from their own projects.

Learning Outcomes |
1. To give a definition and basic understanding of translational cancer research. 2. Understand the role and responsibilities of various partners in the translational network 3. Acknowledge and articulate of some of the practical and ethical challenges involved 4. Be aware of many common pitfalls and issues that may arise at practical and organisational levels.
