Description
To provide students with an understanding of applied statistics. It will cover topics such as, probability theory, special statistical distributions and basic theory of statistical estimation.

Learning Outcomes
1. Calculate simple probabilities using probability theory.
2. Identify appropriate special distributions for use in a variety of novel scenarios.
3. Construct the basic statistical point and interval estimates.
4. Explain the importance of the Central Limit Theorem in the construction of statistical estimates.
