This module aims to introduce the student to issues involved in distributed computing, and particularly to the paradigms used to address these issues.

Learning Outcomes
1. Understand the fundamental concepts underlying distributed computing
2. Develop solution to classical distributed computing problems
3. Analyse and assess different approaches to problems in distributed computing
