Description
This module develops students’ appreciation of, and sensitivity to, the role of text as a fundamental element of multimedia. In addition to learning basic writing skills, through continuous practice, students learn the techniques of professional informational writing for targeted audiences across a range of formats. The approach taken recognises new media text as an evolutionary development of established print standards.

Learning Outcomes
1. Describe the characteristics of competent writing.
2. Recognise the needs of specific media and audiences for written information.
3. Produce original written content for multimedia.
4. Develop skills in writing clear, concise and comprehensible prose.
5. Critically analyse writing samples from a variety of media.
6. Combine writing with other types of media information in multimedia production.
7. Choose a suitable writing style and method of presentation for content in a particular medium aimed at a specific audience.
