The module will build on and advance the students study of the Art and Craft of Radio Production and Presentation. The module will widen and test the students' analytical and critical skills in respect of Radio. The module will be a progression in understanding Radio as a motive for Communication, resulting in an understanding and a discovery of the difference between Persuasion-Entertainment and Information within the Radio context. They will be encouraged to listen more carefully and more distinctly to the diversity of Radio and to pick up points of technique. They will be introduced to the diversity of Programmes - Programme making and Programme makers. The module will develop the students sense and use of sound and sound layering as a language of aural communications. They will study the power of the Creativity of Voice as the ultimate Communication tool on Radio. They will be introduced to Radio Writing as a storage of talk. They will learn and practice the Art of Effective Interviewing. They will explore technical creative and imaginative skills necessary for more advanced elements of Radio production. 1. Be familiar with the elements that are essential in the making of good Radio. 2. Demonstrate advanced skill in the use of the Marantz and Microphone techniques. 3.
