Description
To introduce the skills, techniques, procedures and ethical issues for television journalism.

Learning Outcomes
1. Describe the TV news offerings available from various Irish and international broadcasters
2. Discuss specific TV news broadcasts in terms of: intended audience, tone, content, style and effectiveness
3. Write news scripts to match pictures
4. Perform simple video edits
5. Apply appropriate legal and ethical standards in the use of pictures, and defend decisions made
6. Work effectively as a member of a team to produce a short illustrated news bulletin, operating a range of studio equipment
7. Present a TV bulletin using autocue
