Description
This module which runs over the first and second semesters of final year prepares students for the selection and completion of a major independent project/thesis, either written academic or media production based ( video, radio or photography/imaging). The first semester is dedicated to choosing a topic, consulting supervisors, choosing appropriate research methods, consideration of ethical issues and the preparation of a project proposal. In the second semester each student/group presents work in progress to the class for discussion and receives feedback feedback from students and module co-ordinator. Each student/group working in tandem with module co-ordinator and individual project supervisors submits the completed project at the end of the second semester.

Learning Outcomes
1. Apply the knowledge acquired over the duration of the BA programme to developing final project.
2. Conduct a major piece of independent research.
3. Demonstrate a knowledge of the literature and/or digital production methodologies relevant to their project.
4. Develop a research methodology appropriate to their project.
5. Present work in progress in an effective manner.
6. Benefit from peer review of work in progress.
7. Discern the ethical issues involved in project and act accordingly.
