Description
This module is a natural progression through from 2nd year elective Radio studies and places an emphasis on the range - scope - research -creativity aural Imagination and technicalities necessary to expand the students understanding of the world of radio making. The module will also prepare and educate the students for the challenge of completing a Radio Thesis documentary/feature for broadcast. Prominence will be placed on Radio Features/Documentaries/Radio Drama/Documentary as fact/truth and Feature as free/form will be identified and outlined using structure - form - content and delivery - and the consistency of the perceived structure. Concentration will be also placed on planning - research - and structure. The module will open up the range and diversity of radio at a greater depth, examining Writing for Radio at an advanced level and differentiating between creative writing, narrative spine and dramatic writing. Techniques of writing of a radio play and an exploration of radio drama will be looked at as a to the discipline of which uses sound alone to achieve its effects. The module will also study and analyse the challenge of the in-depth Radio Interview.
