Description
This module builds on previously acquired radio production skills, to survey different approaches to long-form journalism in radio with particular attention to the documentary, and to apply the principles observed in supervised project work.

Learning Outcomes
1. Identify topics of public interest likely to yield engaging stories for radio audiences
2. Engage in deep research to uncover new and revealing information about complex and sensitive humanexperience
3. Conduct interviews on complex and potentially distressing topics with a high degree of sensitivity
4. Operate studios, portable audio equipment and editing equipment to a high professional standard,demonstrating competence in the construction of absorbing stories in sound
5. Display creativity in the acquisition of appropriate sounds and the construction of absorbing audio narratives
6. Exercise mature judgement in applying appropriate legal, ethical and moral standards in editing andscripting
7. Critcally assess their own work, demonstrating awareness of the social and personal impact of their stories
