Description
To give students a work placement in a media organization for a period of up to eight weeks.To acclimatize students to a media environment.To enable students to develop their journalistic skills in practical situations.

Learning Outcomes
1. Locate potential sources of full- or part-time employment.
2. Identify specific and/or specialist career paths in the news business.
3. Appraise the possibility of successfully pitching articles or packages to a particular media outlet.
4. Apply university-acquired knowledge to work situations.
5. Evaluate the quality and quantity of work available from potential media employers.
6. Produce copy of a professional journalistic standard.
7. Compile a compelling CV.
8. Assemble a starter portfolio.

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
INTRA placements will be organized by the Office for Industrial and International Affairs in a wide range of media organizations, including newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations, information and press offices, and new media. Students who wish to do placements abroad may be facilitated. On completion of the INTRA programme, each student will be required to write a detailed report of her/his experiences while on placement. Academic staff will monitor the progress of each student on INTRA. Assessment.
