Description
Building on previous learning, this module explores issues and techniques in the production of television news and current affairs, and equips students with the skills to function as a TV reporter or news producer.

Learning Outcomes
1. Propose and develop story ideas, identify picture opportunities and locate potential interviewees for TV news
2. Operate portable cameras and sound equipment to the standard expected of a video journalist
3. Confidently deliver scripted pieces to camera, on-camera interviews and voice-over narration
4. Conduct effective interviews, write fluent scripts to match pictures, and edit finished video packages of 1-3 minutes
5. Work effectively as a member of a team
6. Exercise mature judgement in applying appropriate legal and ethical standards, showing keen awareness of the special risks in televison of defamation, invasion of privacy or offence to good taste.
7. Critically assess their work, compare it to that of others, and suggest improvements
