Description
This module prepares students to devise and complete an independent academic project. In the first half of the module students will work on drafting a specific research proposal. In the second half students will implement that proposal and report each week on their progress. The module concludes with a formal presentation of the projects and findings to the class and invited lecturers.

Learning Outcomes
1. Apply the knowledge acquired over the duration of the BA programme to develop a research project.
2. Conduct a significant piece of independent written research.
3. Demostrate a knowledge of the literature relevant to the research topic.
4. Develop a research methodology appropriate to the research topic.
5. Present work in progress in an effective manner outlined by the lecturer.
6. Benefit from feedback from the lecturer and peers of work in progress.
7. Discern the ethical issues involved in the project and act accordinly.
