Description
This module aims to track and evaluate new media developments and trends and their implications for journalism, to establish basic familiarity with Internet and digital media technologies, roles and practices as they apply to journalism.

Learning Outcomes
1. Evaluate new media developments in terms of their relevance to journalism practice and ethics
2. Integrate new media concepts with evolving understandings of the role of journalists in networked media
3. Analyse and interpret new media practices and potentialities in reporting news and facilitating public debate
4. Recognise opportunities and challenges for journalism in networked media
5. Construct information designs for online audiences
6. Demonstrate a facility with fluid media platforms, with the ability to publish text, audio and video online.
