1. To examine the context within which television/video journalism occurs.2. To impart an understanding of the basic skills employed by TV journalists.3. To critically evaluate TV journalism reporting and scheduling.4. To explore the relationship of TV journalism to new forms of media.

Learning Outcomes
1. Know the fundamental requirements of TV/video journalism for multimedia platforms.
2. Produce and edit short reports, bearing in mind cultural, ethical and social dimensions.
3. Critically evaluate TV news and current affair reporting and scheduling
4. Present pieces to camera.
5. Analyse issues in television/video journalism.
6. Be aware of the need to update or deepen their knowledge skill-set.
