Description
This module provides students with an appreciation of the role of publication design in a public communication setting, and familiarises them with principles, conventions, elements and techniques of print and web design.

Learning Outcomes
1. Evaluate content and target audience design issues in public communication in print and online.
2. Examine the relationships between elements in a given design context, including synergies between print and web design
3. Integrate elements of design for a given print or web publication
4. Create an original design for a supplement, section, magazine or comparable publication while recognizing current conventions
5. Show proficiency in the use of type, colour, images and layout.
