Description

Allows students to acquire a broad insight into how Irish television structures and policies have developed and to place the domestic arena in an international context.

Learning Outcomes

1. Know the regulatory basis for broadcasting practice.
2. Present data and ideas having due regard to the first principles of oral and visual communications.
3. Locate and consult relevant research in respect of television policy and practice.
4. Analyse current debates and developments in broadcasting.
5. Update and deepen her/his knowledge through further research.
6. Evaluate problems and solutions in the context of European audiovisual policy.
