Description
This module aims to develop the student’s ability to work as a journalist in diverse contexts and on diverse topics outside of their own culturally familiar settings. It aims to develop the students’ awareness of international issues and topics requiring media attention. It challenges the students to apply their journalism skills to complex topics capable of being covered from their places of study abroad. It aims to strengthen the students’ capacity for in-depth reporting and analysis, and for incisive writing and presentation.

Learning Outcomes
1. Identify significant newsworthy topics in an international setting
2. Report multi-source news and newsfeature stories in an international context
3. Write or otherwise generate news stories and other journalism content of a publishable quality
4. Reflect upon the differences in news sense, in journalistic standards, in ethical balance and other dimensions of journalism in a multinational context
5. Describe in detail the process of working as a reporter in an international setting
6. Participate in online discussions with students anywhere on differences and commonalities in the profession in different countries and regions
