Description
MODULE AIMS:To provide a grounding in the creative and technical aspects of image capture, editing and manipulation for use in new media. To provide skills in the use of Photoshop and Camera Raw for image/graphic/artwork preparation for traditional and new media authoring.To provide a critical understanding of the importance of the image in contemporary visual culture.To enable students develop a creative and personal approach to image production and use in new media.

Learning Outcomes
1. Employ technical and conceptual skills required for realising and producing photographic work for professional practice.
2. Demonstrate, through independent research and practice, problem solving and creativity through the completion of a resolved self-generated, negotiated brief.
3. Employ key skills in the use of Photoshop, Camera Raw and related software for image/graphic/artwork editing for traditional and new media authoring.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the evolving genres and language of contemporary photographic practice and related media.
