Description
To be aware of all aspects of health and safety regulations applicable to schools.To introduce the safety health and welfare at work act 1989, and the importance of this act. To develop an appreciation of essential rules for laboratory safety.To develop an understanding of how the teacher must organise themselves and the laboratory to ensure students complete their practical coursework and maximise their time spent in the laboratory. To develop methods for planning and preparation of course materials, and organising an efficient layout of the laboratory.

Learning Outcomes
1. Find information of the hazards, storage and disposal of chemicals.
2. Manage a school laboratory in a safe manner
3. Be aware of accident prevention and the use of safety equipment
4. Safely extinguish any type of fire
5. Be aware of the basic concepts for science laboratories, such as design, services, organization and management
