Description
The purpose of this module is to provide samples of academic writing and other appropriate material with a view to analysing the linguistic, stylistic and contextual features which characterize these texts; To introduce the students to the conventions of academic writing in English; To examine functions of writing; To provide practice in the writing of various academic texts.The students will be able, at the end of the module, to produce all types of written academic texts in appropriate styles and with high levels of fluency and competence. Students are expected to attend lectures, contribute to tutorials as well complete regular preparatory work.

Learning Outcomes
1. Write a coherent piece of academic English.
2. Perform various written functions using an appropriate style and register.
3. Compose ideas into a written structure taking into account the goals of the writer and the needs of the reader.
4. Demonstrate an ability to engage with the different styles of academic writing in correct and fluent written English.
5. Minimum modlue exit B1 (CEFR)
