Description
This module is to enable students to effectively communicate with students,managers and colleagues in their workbased practice. It is designed so as to create awareness of a solution focused process that enables students to use effective communication skills in a variety of workbased contexts. This is to enable students to understand and apply effective mediation skills based on academic learning and application in a work based context.Students will understand and demonstrate effective negotiation, facilitation and decision making skills so as to communicate in an effective way. This is to contribute to the students personal,academic and professional development.

Learning Outcomes
1. Understand and apply effective communication skills related to their work based practice.
2. Demonstrate effective listening skills relevant for facilitation and mediation in the workplace.
3. Critically evaluate skills in providing a solution-orientated response to students, colleagues and managers in the work place.
4. Analyse and evaluate the relevance of proven academic models which have been used to facilitate effective communication skills.
5. Identify and apply a range of decision- making styles.
6. Understand the benefits of interview skills in the workplace.
