The purpose of the module is to equip students in the MSc Education and Training Management to with skills and knowledge in leadership and the management of staff performance. Working with a range of lecturers, students will explore the application of a range of concepts around the recruitment, selection, management and leadership of staff in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the main responsibilities associated with the role of leader in an organisational setting.
2. Identify the qualities required of the leader in successfully leading a team in the workplace/community.
3. Describe the key elements of talent management, coaching and mentoring and performance appraisal.
4. Apply the principles and practices of leadership and performance management to the workplace.
5. Recognise and harness the potential of the workforce in a complex and diverse working environment.
6. Outline the debates related to work-life balance in the workplace.
