Description
This module aims to develop students' understanding of the principal theories of learning including the understanding (theory) and supporting (practice) of lifelong and lifewide education of adults.It also aims to integrate findings from research to practice within a developmental context in examining how experience generates developmental change with a particular focus on transition throughout the lifespan.This is supported by assisting students understanding of human development across biological, cognitive, social, and emotional domains.

Learning Outcomes
1. Recognise that "development" continues throughout the lifespan and identify similarities and changes throughout development in the following contexts -physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, moral, social, personality.
2. Examine the influence of theories in adult learning, lifespan developmental psychology on the provision of guidance and counselling.
3. Reflect on the psychological barriers to personal and career development – issues of mental health, perceptions of self and others, dealing with stress in the workplace.
4. Identify and critically assess the impact of transition throughout the lifespan.
5. Clarify one's practice and engage in self-reflection as a means to understanding the psychologicaland educational development of others.
6. Identify and examine the impact of individual difference across the lifespan
