Description
To equip student teachers with the ability to define, create and maintain an effective learningenvironment. To introduce students to contemporary approaches in a range of teaching &learning skills. To develop confidence in a range of initial teaching skills through reviews,analysis, demonstration, peer coaching and guided feedback To provide students with adetailed knowledge and understanding of the content and assessment methodology of theJunior Cycle and Senior Cycle curricula in Music in second-level schools.

Learning Outcomes
1. Describe the content, methodology and assessment techniques of the Junior Cycle and Senior Cyclesyllabus in Music as taught in second-level schools.
2. Map an appropriate teaching scheme for the Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle Syllabus in Music as taught insecond-level schools.
3. Articulate and relate the appropriate teaching methods and specific challenges in delivering Music astaught in second-level schools.
4. Design a range of resources appropriate for use in the teaching Music as taught in second-level schools.
5. Work in collegiality with colleagues in the interests of sharing, promoting, developing and supportingbest professional practice in the teaching of Science in second level schools.
6. Explore ways to best develop the integration of Music Education across the curriculum in second levelschools.
