Description
The module sets the level B1.2 from the Common European framework of Reference (CEFR) as its minimum exit level.Throughout the semester, students will continue to increase their competence and fluency in French. They will develop competences that will enable them to take ownership of their language learning and language use. They will acquire the knowledge and skills required to secure a job/workplacement at home or abroad. They will gain an understanding of the international labour market (in the private, public or voluntary sector), with regards to professions in their own domain, and to understand cultural differences between French-speaking countries and Ireland in the area of employment and recruitment.

Learning Outcomes
1. Describe an international organisation in terms of its structure, professions, products or services, and goals, orally and in writing
2. Demonstrate intercultural awareness about the recruitment process in French-speaking countries
3. Put together a Curriculum Vitae and a letter of application for a job/work placement in French
4. Conduct a job interview in French
5. Make effective use of digital resources and tools for communication purposes (interaction and production)

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Learning activities.
Students will engage in a variety of individual and collaborative language learning activities, in class and online. They are expected to attend all classes and to fully participate in offline and online interactions, through French.Language learning activities are designed to provide students with ample opportunities to practise French so that they can develop their spoken and written skills. They will also develop generic skills (e.g. computer supported collaborative learning and working skills, communication skills) and to take ownership of their learning..

Indicative topics.
Students will enhance their cultural and and linguistic knowledge and skills in the following areas, with reference to a French speaking context:structure, goals/mission, products and services of organisations (private, public, and voluntary sector); roles and responsibilities in organisations; the labour market and professions related to students' specialisms; seeking a job or work placement, applying for a position..
