Description

This is an introduction to bi-lateral and consecutive interpreting skills from French-English for students who have little or no prior experience with interpreting.
|

Learning Outcomes |
1. Listen to a speech in French covering topics such as international, EU or domestic politics, environment, or economics and orally synthesize its contents accurately to a level consistent with a beginner in interpreting. 2. Use typical note-taking techniques to capture the meaning of a speech delivered in French and todeliver the same speech in English. 3. Employ memory and public speaking skills to confidently interpret a speech given in French in theEnglish language, with appropriate register, terminology and interpreting techniques.
