Description
This module sets the level B2.2/C1.1 from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) as its minimum exit level. Throughout the semester, students will experience and reflect on a broad range of offline and online writing practices. They will work towards attaining a high level of written fluency and accuracy and will develop collaborative as well as individual writing skills. Students are expected to attend all classes and to participate fully in the proposed learning activities, in class and online.

Learning Outcomes
1. Use a variety of social media (e.g. blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to express opinions, describe real or imaginary events and experiences, and to interact with familiar and unfamiliar readers.
2. Draft, edit, and publish clear and well structured texts on complex subjects, in collaboration with others.
3. Draw on a broad lexical repertoire to express himself/herself accurately without restriction and avoiding frequent repetitions
4. Maintain a high degree of grammatical accuracy
5. Adopt a level of formality appropriate to the situation, genre and medium
6. Make effective use of online collaboration tools and resources for writing (e.g. wikis, google docs, electronic dictionaries, corpora, etc.)

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Digital literacy and skills.
Students will create and maintain an online identity with which they are comfortable. They will perform individual and collaborative tasks using Web 2.0 applications and electronic resources. They will learn to select digital spaces and cultures in which to participate for personal, social or professional purposes, and learn how to use these spaces in an appropriate and effective manner through the medium of French..

Writing practices and genres.
Throughout the semester, students will engage in a variety of individual and social writing practices in the French language. They will write extensively and continuously, peer-review the writings of their peers, and learn to adapt their writing to the situation, medium, and genre..

Study of language.
Students will engage in sustained lexical and grammatical work with a view to expanding the range of texts that they can produce in the (complex) topics of their choice..
