This module sets the level A2.1 at its minimum exit from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) as its minimum exit level. It aims to consolidate language competence and fluency with a particular emphasis on the quality of spoken production, including pronunciation and intonation. Reading comprehension and written skills are also reinforced by engaging with newspapaper texts, e-mail communications and using on-line resources. Intercultural awareness is increased and economic, social and cultural awareness of Germany and the German-speaking countries are fostered. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Authentic materials (newspaper articles, extracts of TV news and radio prohrammes/reports) on a variety of themes (economic, technological, social and business topics, with specific reference to the learners' own specialism. Language learning strategies. setting goals/planning language activities/self-evaluation/monitoring. Groups with a maximum of 20 students. Interactive classroom and laboratory-based sessions.
