Description
This module sets the level A2.1 at its minimum exit from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) as its minimum exit level. It aims to consolidate language competence and fluency with a particular emphasis on the quality of spoken production, including pronunciation and intonation. Reading comprehension and written skills are also reinforced by engaging with newspapaper texts, e-mail communications and using on-line resources. Intercultural awareness is increased and economic, social and cultural awareness of Germany and the German-speaking countries are fostered.

Learning Outcomes
1. Employ effective production skills with a degree of grammatical accuracy appropriate to this level in German on some specialized topics
2. Produce short texts on everyday and some specialized topics
3. Extract meaing from a variety of texts, identifying key words and structure

Authentic materials (newspaper articles, extracts of TV news and radio prohrammes/reports) on a variety of themes (economic, technological, social and business topics, with specific reference to the learners' own specialism.
