Description
INACTIVE - This module sets the level B2+ from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) as it minimun exit level.It seeks to enable the students to:- Consolidate language competence and fluency with a view to moving towards the level of 'near-native speaker competence'- Participate effectively in an oral group discussion on a specialised topic- Improve aural comprehension with listening exercises based on TV news and current affairs programmes- Heighten the students' cultural awareness and enable them to integrate easily in an intercultural workplace at home and abroad

Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate understanding and write a critical appraisal of contemporary German films in their original form
2. Express their opinion in writing on complex subjects in a clear, well stuctured and detailed manner
3. Demonstrate their ability to take part in a group discussion with a level of fluency and spontaneity, clear pronunciation and a B2+ level of linguistic competence.
4. Demonstrate a heightened awareness of cultural diversity and a greater understanding of differences in business practices and other aspects of human behaviour and interaction in a global marketplace

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
German Language 6.
The course is conducted through German. Classroom sessions are interactive and learner-centered. Students will be required to critique a contempory German film. In addition, students will engage in a group project based on their needs, interests and area of specialism, within the general theme of globalisation. Students will engage in group discussions on a range of topics relevant to Germany in the global economy and will analyse issues faced by the businesss community.The list of possible issues includes but is not limited to: The future of the German language in a globalised world, the inpact of relocation of industry on the German labour market, the anti and alter-globalisation movements in German, a cross-cultural analysis of advertising in German and English, business ethics, international relations etc..
