The purpose of this module is to examine and critically assess a number of key concepts and issues associated with behaviour in organizations. Specific Organizational Behaviour models, approaches and methodologies are addressed and the course provides frameworks and tools for introducing and sustaining organizational effectiveness. It focuses initially on aspects of personal and group behaviour and on issues of leadership, power, organizational change, structural change and corporate culture. Behaviour in work organisations including motivation theory, personality and social networks.. Organisational Behaviour is designed to introduce students to key concepts and issues associated with behaviour in work organisations. It focuses initially on aspects of personal and group behaviour and in the second half of the course, on issues of leadership, power, organisational change, structural design, corporate culture and change. Group dynamics and team functioning. Group dynamics and team functioning includes the managerial roles enacted in team and group settings including structural and process components of group functioning. Leadership of change. Leadership of change includes an introduction to leadership style self analysis plus the role of the manager in the process of leading and managing change. Organisational Culture and Change. Organisational change involves a personal and organisational assesment of the barriers and enablers to change in organisations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
