Description
INACTIVE - Increases proficiency in Japanese Language Acquisition of skills to recognise and respond to linguistic nuances in a variety of different social situations Development of different writing skills of specific purposes Ability to communicate professionally and socially in Japanese To increase the depth and practical value of the students business knowledge in Japanese

Learning Outcomes
1. Recognise and respond to linguistic nuances in a variety of different social situations.
2. Display competence in writing skills (in Japanese) applied to specific purposes.
3. Communicate professionally and socially in Japanese with native speakers, using the target language effectively in any situations that might arise.
4. Write complex Japanese texts on a variety of themes.
5. Analyse a wide range of literary texts in Japanese.

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Prescribed text and booklet for language comprehension.
Use of authentic materials such as current Japanese newspapers and periodicals.

Examination of current affairs programmes.
This course will introduce the main grammatical points, vocabulary and key expressions that are consistently used in a wide range of Japanese business situations. The situations covered include simple scenarios such as phone calls and introductions, to more complex ones like contract negotiations, etc...
