Description
Aiming to further develop semi-professional translation skills, the module is designed to build up students' ability to translate Japanese technical texts at an advanced level for a variety of purposes e.g. information only, publication etc by an efficient use of specialised terminology resources and comparative text resources.

Learning Outcomes
1. Translate semi-specialised texts at an advanced level from Japanese into English
2. Select suitable comparative texts for background research
3. Generate terminological resources of their own from variety of sources
4. Produce a Target Text which is appropriate for the purpose of translation
5. Critique published Japanese / English translations
