Description
This module trains learners in basic research methods in Translation Studies and develops their ability to present the results of their research in a clear and lucid manner.

Learning Outcomes
1. Formulate a research question/ hypothesis
2. Choose an appropriate methodology for a research project
3. Apply citing and referencing guidelines
4. Use a range of bibliographical resources
5. Write up research results in the appropriate register in English

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Teaching & Learning Methods.
Five group seminars on Introduction to Research, Research Methods, Topics in Translation Studies, Research Design Issues and Academic Writing. Guided study: Each student will consult with their supervisor on the preparation of their dissertation proposal. Students will have two individual tutorials with their supervisor - on dates agreed at the outset - to discuss progress and any difficulties in their preparation of the Dissertation.
