Description

Translation as a Profession will provide an overview of the work of freelance translators, translation agencies, in-house translators and will also look at linked areas such as conference and legal interpreting. This module includes an overview of editing and proofreading for translators.

Learning Outcomes

1. Judge the value of and price their work as translators/interpreters
2. Bid for work adopting conventions appropriate to the marketplace in which they work.
3. Draw up a business plan for a translation company.
4. Make appropriate use of resources, including peer networks.
5. Offer editing and proofreading services.
