Description

The objective of this module is to raise students' awareness of the issues arising in an intercultural work environment and to give them the tools to engage effectively with such issues. This will be done by examining the students' own conditioning and prejudices influencing their ability to interact successfully within an intercultural workplace, by exploring issues relating to interaction with different linguistic and cultural norms and values, different learning styles, minorities, diversity; and by comparing the current Irish situation with practice elsewhere.

Learning Outcomes

1. Display a deeper understanding of the diverse issues which are associated with intercultural work environments
2. Deal effectively with intercultural issues that arise in a variety of intercultural work environments.
3. Suggest solutions to intercultural issues which arise in the workplace
