To develop an understanding of US foreign policy in the post Cold War world. To assess howthe US foreign policy mission has changed since the end of the Cold War. To analyse thestructures and decision making processes of US governments in the post Cold War period. Toexplore how US Foreign policy has changed since 9/11.

Learning Outcomes
1. Accurately describe and explain periods in US foreign policy
2. Identify the relevance of the idea of a foreign policy mission to US foreign policy
3. Analyse specific theories linking domestic interest groups and the shape of US foreign policy
4. Appraise the nature and effectiveness of US foreign policy
5. Identify continuity and change in US Foreign policy pre and post 9/11
