Description
|
This module examines international relations theory and practice from an Indian perspective. It analyses how India engaged with international organisations and international law since independance. It discusses India's emergence from colony to a regional / international power. It analyses how India has engaged with developments in various fields such as human rights, political economy, environment, international security. It highlights key aspects of Indian foreign policy. It applies international relations theories to Indian practice.

1. Assess Indian foreign policy in a number of fields, including human rights security etc. 2. Evaluate the role and power of India at a regioanl and international level 3. Analyse India's participation in international organisations such as WTO, UN and India's engagement with international law 4. Apply international relations theories to Indian practices
