This module aims to equip those engaged in teaching in higher education with competence in teaching online, with the ability to identify opportunities to use learning technologies to enhance their teaching and to gain enhanced educational technology skills.

Learning Outcomes
1. Synthesise pedagogic and technology skills and strategies to teach effectively in an online learning environment.
2. Reflect on the experience of being an online learner and how this might influence their own online teaching approaches.
3. Evaluate their own teaching with a view to identifying opportunities to incorporate learning technologies to support online teaching and learning.
4. Critique a range of learning technology tools to determine suitability for their own teaching and appropriate to their own competence level with technology.
5. Design a technology-enhanced learning strategy appropriate to their teaching context and discipline which is suitable for development and implementation with their students.

Directed learning5Comprising of face-to-face tutorials
On-line learning30Participants will engage in synchronous and asynchronous online activities including webinars, online tutorials, online discussion fora, peer collaborative learning activities.
Independent learning50Participants will be expected to engage with the module aims and learning outcomes independently, working through module resources, core texts and undertake additional reading as appropriate.
Assignment40Participants will be expected to complete all three assessment elements; Professional Learning Journal, Technology-Enhanced Learning Strategy, Continuous Module Participation & Engagement.
