Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Dissertation.
The dissertation should reflect a sound grasp of the theoretical principles affecting a defined area of strategic marketing and include an awareness, for example, of models developed by leading academics who have subscribed to the present state of knowledge. While the dissertation should be literature-based, it is highly desirable that it demonstrates a capacity for original thought, logical argument and the ability to discuss objectively and rigorously and where possible include an element of primary research undertaken to explore further specific aspects of a marketing problem.Ideally, the findings of such a primary research should be compared and contrasted with the theoretical models which would have been studied earlier. The dissertation should not exceed 15,000 words (85 pages) and is to be submitted by first Tuesday in August..
