Description
This module introduces participants to the foundations of organisational management and strategy. In the economics section, we examine the role for the HR founction in developing human capital as a source of competitive advantage. In the marketing section, we consider the role of the HR founction in supporting a customer and market-led organisation.

Learning Outcomes
1. Analyse the concept of competitive advantage, using relevant theoretical frameworks
2. Evaluate the implications of these frameworks for organisational strategic decision making
3. Appraise the role of HR in determining an organisation's ability to generate effective strategic decision making
4. Review and apply strategic marketing theory and concepts to a range of organisational opportunities and challenges
5. Conduct a marketing audit considering appropriate internal and external factors
6. Evaluate the impact of marketing/HR interactions on the implementation of marketing strategy
