This course equips students with an understanding of issues in the management of the application of Business Information Systems in modern enterprises.

Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the role of business information systems in modern enterprises.
2. Describe different types of information reporting systems and information processing systems.
3. Discuss Information Systems Planning processes and techniques
4. Summarise the range of strategic, management and operational processes involved in managing IS/IT.
5. Outline roles of the various personnel involved in IS/IT functions and how they communicate with other business functions.
6. Review organisational theory and how it applies to the management of IS/IT
7. Identify legal and regulatory issues affecting IS/IT.
8. Outline a framework that can be used for IS/IT governance.
9. Compare different approaches for managing IS/IT related change
10. Uss managing emerging technologies and managing knowledge work in organisations
11. Discuss how emerging technologies are likely to affect the management of the IT/IS functions.
