Description
A module in mathematics and statistics which equips students with the foundation in mathematical sciences required for the study of modules at subsequent levels.

Learning Outcomes
1. Analyse and explain a set of data using numerical measures
2. Solve statistical problems using Excel Spreadsheets
3. Apply the principles of sampling to solve problems
4. Solve problems by applying principles of probability and probability distributions
5. Chose suitable tests to formulate and apply hypotheses for statistical analysis
6. Communicate in writing the solution of numeric problems
7. Calculate relationships between variables to solve problems
8. Demonstrate an ability to understand basic concepts, and solve problems, in algebra and trigonometry.
9. Integrate and differentiate functions
